Craving a vacation, whether to escape the (non)-existent Minnesota winter or to be transported to another time and place, is the goal for the Khâluna restaurant. Chef Ann Ahmed, creator behind Lat14 and newly opened Gai Noi, has created this amazing space with Laotian-inspired foods. Visiting the space feels like stepping into a resort of a more tropical location.

 Imagine the neutral tones, the mixture of textures from the woven chairs and lamps to the concrete-formed arches and façade. You are welcomed with a small tasting drink to celebrate your arrival, as you would at a luxury resort.

The cocktail menu features a variety of fun, tropical drinks. Each drink comes in a beautiful glass and is garnished with edible flowers. The mocktail selections are equally impressive. Go ahead, try a fun cocktail and pretend you are on vacation.

Then there is the food menu. Colors, flavors, and textures are presented on every single plate in a way that honors its roots while adding modern and luxurious flare. The basil wings are a must-try for those who are not afraid of a little spice. The red curry is rich in flavor as if it has been cooking on the stove for years, developing swirling layers of complexity. If your palate and budget suit, try the mango fish, you will receive a whole red snapper covered in mango chutney slaw.
